After our week on the Rhine Cruise with two additional days in Amsterdam, we flew to Munich for two days on the rest of our extended Germany trip.
We visited the Hofbraühaus for lunch and listened to oompah music. Of course, we had bratwurst, potatoes, and sauerkraut with Hofbraü Dunkel (dark) beer.
We took a short sightseeing tour around the city and walked around center city for a while.
Then we had dinner (and more beer) at a sidewalk cafe.
The next day we toured the Royal Castles and visited the village of Oberammergau in the Bavarian Alps southwest of Munich. Neuschwanstein Castle was the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland that was built by King Ludwig II in the 19th century along with his elaborate Linderhof family castle. It was overcast with rain in lower 50’s, but still a good tour.

I love watching Aerial America and I also love reading fellow bloggers recent travels and looking at the photos! These little vicarious mini-vacations are just too cool! Thanks for sharing, Doug!
It was a wonderful trip, and I wanted to share my photos for others to enjoy too so I’m glad you like them.
I do! I’m so backlogged on posting my trip photos! The reason? I took so many and have had many photo shoots since, that I haven’t gotten them all done! I’ve now got a trip to Leavenworth, WA planned. One trip to Virginia Beach, a road trip to San Diego and another jaunt to Ocean Shores, WA. All are scheduled for between now and the end of the year. Hubby retires from working in two weeks. Between all that, I have other photo shoots, too! I’ll keep at though.
It took me quite a while to get my trip photos ready for posting too. I had taken almost 4,000 photos, and narrowed that down to around 1,000. It just takes time reviewing, cropping, organizing, tagging, selecting, etc. It’s still not done, but I didn’t want to wait any longer, and I can always refine the photo web site further. I’m still trying to figure out the best workflow for photos. Your upcoming trips sound very interesting too.
