I use the Arc browser by The Browser Company of New York as my default browser on macOS, rather than Safari or Chrome.
Discovering the Arc Browser was transformational for me. I have been exploring how to integrate Arc Browser with Obsidian as the foundation of my PKM environment based on LYT concepts. It’s a natural companion with Obsidian, and I have them as a Split View in my main macOS desktop space.
There is also a Arc | Mobile Companion for iOS to use on my iPhone, which syncs nicely via iCloud to supplement my macOS app. They are actively working on a version for Arc on Windows.
There is so much that the Arc Browser offers, I’m trying to cover key features so you learn what’s possible for your internet.
Basics
You need to understand spaces and tabs, but Easels and notes can be useful too.
Extras
Extra features such as sidebar, split views, peek, Little Arc, and profiles are very helpful.
More
You can customize websites using Chrome extensions or Arc Boosts, and help is always available.
LYT Pipeline
The combination of Arc Browser and Obsidian is extremely powerful with its great integration. These are key elements in my environment using the LYT frameworks for organization and workflow.
I use consistent LYT Spaces for macOS, Obsidian, and Arc Browser as a LYT Pipeline that enables the emergence of thoughts, ideas, and knowledge added from sparks that I encounter; then I can make notes and maps with links, relate and remark, and organize so that I can communicate by sharing with others.
I will enhance and refine these topics further and more. In the meantime, have some patience since some areas need more work.
