I am very pleased with the list of music. Previously, I have listened to and loved a majority of these songs, so the new ones I am really excited to take on. What really drew me in was your insertion of “Love, Save the Empty” – a great album that deserves all the praise it can get.
Great list, and great taste in music! Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you liked the music. Actually, I had the opportunity to see several of the artists in this list since I live near Austin, Texas. I saw Erin McCarley at Stubbs BBQ (indoors) in 2009 – she was fantastic and did most of the stuff from “Love, Save the Empty”. Opening for her was Butterfly Boucher who was great (in fact, I think I will include her in tomorrow’s music). Also, I saw Rachel Yamagata at The Parish, who was wonderful. And Kasey Chambers (from Australia) at Momo’s (which is no longer there) was really good too; she had just released her “Little Bird” album prior to having a baby with Shane Nicholson, her husband. Her story about growing up in the Outback was quite interesting, and some of the songs on the album relate to her experiences (Nullarbor – No trees!). Although I just highlighted a specific track, you should listen to the whole album if you can; I especially love the “Little Bird” and “Nullarbor” tracks. The Austin City Limits Music Festival is coming up here over the next two weekends.
