I love a wide variety of music from many genres and artists, but you probably already knew that, if you have followed my blog over the past 4 years. In fact, Spotify called me “adventurous” because I listened to “non-mainstream” artists 159% more than the average Spotify user. I also included my top songs for 2017 and 2016.

This music was created for a short documentary film about grief & loss. Lullen is one of the side projects for Handsome (Brett), which he describes this way:

Just a few days before his new album Gathering was released, Josh Ritter performed for The Current (89.3) and 75 lucky fans, packed into the basement of The Turf Club (aka The Clown Lounge), Saint Paul, Minnesota. He performed songs with bassist Zachariah Hickman from ‘Gathering’ and a few standout tracks from his catalog, in an uplifting and spirited performance.

Today is the 10th anniversary of the 5th album by Josh Ritter: The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter. I thought you might enjoy listening to it again — it’s as good as ever!
He has a new album Gathering to be released on Sep 22, along with another tour (Oct – Feb), including here in Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater on Jan 12th. He says “It’s a record of joy and sadness and laughter and lightning”. Here are several singles from that upcoming album.
