SXSWfm: Austin Connection – Feb 15

Austin Connection is a twice-monthly SXSWfm specialty radio show stream, hosted by Nathan Lankford of Austin Town Hall, is now available on MixCloud. It focuses on indie rock, indie pop, rock, electronic, and Texas music (about an hour long).

SXSWfm is the official internet radio stream of the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in Austin, Texas from March 15-20, 2016. This is a great way to discover new music.

Here is a brief description of this new show.

Austin Connection is here to celebrate two great things: Austin music and SXSW. Over the years, the festival has given birth to a lot of great artists/musicians, but we wanted to make sure those in our own city didn’t go overlooked. It looks back at some of the great acts that have graced our city, while also looking forward to the sounds that are shaping the Live Music Capital of the World.

If you want to listen to more SXSW music, listen to the Official SXSW Music 2016 Complete Playlist with over 1,000 songs and 71 hours.

You can play all the songs in order from the beginning, or you can use the shuffle feature if you want to randomly play songs from the playlist. You can view the Play Queue to see the next tracks to be played after the current track, which is always displayed in lower left corner.

You can click the plus (+) icon next to the song title or select Save to Your Music (right click) to save Songs under Your Music, or you can Add to Playlist with a right click selection (or drag-and-drop) to your own playlist in the sidebar.

There’s a pause/play button available if you want to suspend or resume the playlist, as well as left and right arrow to go back or skip forward. For example, this allows you to skip songs you don’t like or don’t want to listen to (like those marked as explicit or you don’t like certain styles like hip-hop).
