Whisperings Solo Piano: All-Star Concert – Live Broadcast

On Sunday, January 22, 2017, Whisperings Solo Piano Radio had their biggest piano concert of the year…  The Whisperings “All-Star” Concert and Awards Show with a live video internet broadcast.

This was a 3-hour solo piano concert with performances by 16 artists, including all the nominees for Whisperings Album of the Year, with Adam Andrews announced as the winner for Prayers in the Dark at the end of the show. It’s a great way to discover new artists you are sure to enjoy! Listen to the best of Whisperings Solo Piano Radio! This special event was a fantastic experience, but you can still enjoy the music here, except for the improvisation by Doug Hammer and Louis Landon at the end.

Whisperings: All-Star Concert & Awards – 2017

Listen to piano music by Whisperings Solo Piano artists nominated for the 2016 Whisperings Album of the Year.

The “Whisperings Solo Piano – All Star Concert & Awards – 2017” show will be held on Sunday Jan 22, 2017 at 3 pm PT in the Grand Ballroom of the Avenue of the Arts Hotel at Costa Mesa, California. The 3-hour live concert will include 16 performances including all of the following seven 2016 Whisperings Album of the Year finalists, and the winner will be announced at the end of the evening. Their nominated albums are shown in parentheses, and have been featured below so you listen to these artists.

Adam Andrews (Prayers in the Dark), Janice Faber (Piece & Quiet), David Hicken (Stories of You), Kevin Kern (When I Remember), Shoshana Michel (Dancing on the Wind), Dan Chadburn (Beyond Words), and Greg Maroney (Quiet Piano Improvisations, Vol. 1).

Also, there will be nine additional live performance by these artists:

Lisa Downing, Jeff Bjorck, Steven Cravis, Rhonda Mackert, Neil Patton, Tim Neumark, Joe Bongiorno, Joe Yamada, and David Nevue.

Whisperings: All-Star Concert & Awards – 2016

There was a live 3-hour internet broadcast of the Whisperings Solo Piano All-Star Concert and Awards Show in Costa Mesa, California on Sunday, January 24, 2016. This superstar event featured live performances by 16 Whisperings piano artists, including nominees for Whisperings Album of the Year.

There were live performances for nominated albums by the 6 finalists: Louis Landon, Rachel Currea, Michael Logozar, Zachary Bruno, Mary Lydia Ryan, and Tim Glemser, as well as additional nominated artists Joseph Akins and Robin Spielberg; Gregory Lang and Thad Fiscella were not able to attend. The concert also included live performances by the following artists: Joe Yamada, Christopher Boscole, Wayne Gratz, Rebecca Oswald, Mike Strickland, Joe Bongiorno, David Nevue, and Neil Patton.

I have highlighted the solo piano music of most of these artists over the past year but this enables you to listen to them together.  It’s a great way to discover new artists you are sure to enjoy! You can click on any of the artist links above to listen to more of their music on my blog posts. In this post, I have included all the nominated albums when you click More below.

Live Concert: Michele McLaughlin & Joe Bongiorno

There will be a live internet video concert on Sunday November 22 featuring Whispering Solo Piano artists Michele McLaughlin and Joe Bongiorno for the Piano Haven Concert Series from Sedona, Arizona. The concert will start at 7 pm ET (6pm CT, 4pm PT) and usually is about 2 hours.

I have attended many of these concerts before; they are outstanding solo piano artists and the webcast is high quality. It’s a great way to discover new artists you are sure to enjoy. Whisperings Solo Piano Radio – Live Concert

They use a “Pay What You Want” model for a “ticket” to watch ($1 minimum), with optional tipping for the artists during the concert. You can purchase it in advance if you wish and get a reminder before the concert.

The experience is fantastic, and interface easy to use. If you have Apple TV, you can use AirPlay to mirror the broadcast from a Mac, iPhone, or iPad so you can watch it live on an HDTV in your living room along with a high-quality audio system.

House Concert: Rhonda Mackert with Michael and Kendra Logozar

Yesterday afternoon, October 24, I had been invited to attend a Whisperings Solo Piano House Concert featuring a guest artist from Seattle, Rhonda Mackert, along with Michael Logozar and Kendra Logozar. It was planned to be about 2 hours at the Logozar home in Round Rock, Texas (near Austin) in the piano studio overlooking their patio deck and creek.

Unfortunately, at the last minute, Michael had to cancel the concert because of the rains threatening Texas from Hurricane Patricia that crossed Mexico. He said that the last time a system like this blew through people were trapped in the neighborhood because the bridge flooded.

Michael Logozar has been nominated for 2015 Album of the Year by Whisperings Solo Piano for his recent album Shine. He was also received nominations for other albums over the last 3 years for Dreams from Afar (2014), The Road Ahead (2013), and Time (2012).

I have always enjoyed these concerts before and was really looking forward to another wonderful experience of listening to these fantastic piano artists perform live right in front of me, along with a small group of about 30-40 other invited guests. Oh well, I will just have to wait until the next one (and enjoy their playlists in the mean time).
