Background
I was initially diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in October 2006 (over 14 years ago). However, in March 2020, I started seeing an endocrinologist and discovered that I was actually Type 1 (LADA), which was confirmed with antibody lab tests. I have been on insulin therapy with multiple daily injections (MDI), using Tresiba long-acting basal insulin at bedtime (currently 10 units) and Novolog fast-acting bolus insulin before meals as needed based on carb counting. Also I have been using a Dexcom G6 CGM for continuous glucose monitoring for the past year. I anticipate that I will probably include an insulin pump later fairly soon.
